Conspiracy and deception brews in Civil-Wartime Japan – A spectacular Sengoku epic hits Historica.

The story takes place in Japan, 1600 A.D. After the passing of the Taikō who ruled the entirety of Japan, the country is now controlled by five Regents. Yoshii Toranaga, one of such lords in charge of the Kanto region, has vowed to protect the late Taikō’s child at all costs. However, Ishido Kazunari, the Regent of Osaka, had plotted against Toranaga. Having been pulled into rivalry with the other remaining Regents, Toranaga is now in grave danger of being beheaded. That is when a foreign ship carrying John Blackthorn, a British maritime pilot, washes upon Toranaga’s shore. Given the name “Anjin” by Toranaga, Blackthorn tells him that Catholic countries are planning to colonize Asia. Hearing this, Toranaga bans Portuguese ships from leaving Japanese ports. That night, assassins attack Toranaga in his sleep.
