A SAMURAI of the Caribbean, defending homeland and family
Puerto Rico in the 1930s was overcome with poverty and inequality – reminiscent of feudal Japan. But this is the Caribbean; people fight not with katana but with machetes. The American invaders lay their hands on everything they want, using force if they must. After the abduction of his wife who was targeted by such men, Juan picks up his machete with his young daughter on his back, ready to save his love.
