The young Shivudu who grew up under a great waterfall, interested in the world beyond it, one day reaches the top of the waterfall. There, Shivudu meets and falls in love with the beautiful female warrior Avantihka. Shivudu finds out that her clan is in war with tyrant Bhallaladeva's kingdom, and becomes a warrior to sneak in. Shivudu learns that his biological mother had been imprisoned there for 25 years, and that he is Baahubali, the prince of the kingdom.
"Baahubali: The Beginning" which held its Japanese premier at the Kyoto HISTORICA International Film Festival in 2016, makes its return as a complete edition. 21 minutes of new scenes have been added, including the must-see musical sequence "Manohari".
S. S. Rajamouli started as a director of soap operas, and made a record hit with his feature starring Jr. NTR not long after his directorial debut. Since then, he has been making entertainment blockbusters starring major actors. “Eega” ('12), an action comedy where a young man has been reincarnated into a fly that fights to protect his love, and “Maryada Ramanna” ('10), a South Indian film which portrays the happiness and miseries of life with music and dance typical to Indian cinema, have been screened in Japan. His duology "Baahubali" has a box office gross of approximately 418 billion yen, making Rajamouli truly a star director of the Telugu film industry.
